Dear 2009,
Thank you for everything. Thank you for moving faster than any other year i have ever known. You did well. 2008 was a tough opponent, and although it got the upper hand once or twice, you picked up your game and annihilated any and all competition. You were the best year, and I hope your neighbour 2010 can be a worthy successor, even if it has a very tough job to do.
Yours,
Tom.
Tom, why didn’t you say goodbye to me?
I was extremely shell-shocked and dazed on my last day, due to it being my last day. I pretty much let it pass me by in a panic. There are many people I didn’t get to say goodbye to properly and I regret it. It’s no reflection on you or the countless aggressive, xenophobic emails you sent to me throughout my stay.

Does everyone in London wear a top hat and a monocle or is that just for special occasions?
If it were up to me then everyone in the UK would adhere to the strictest, classiest dress code possible. Unfortunately we’re just as lowbrow and disgusting as everyone else.
Ask me anything
Everyone else is doing it, right?

Brendan: DO IT, ONLY IF YOU ARE READY FOR ME TO COME ACROSS THE POND AND KICK YOUR ASS

Either something REALLY bad is about to happen or Roland Emmerich is pulling one hell of a publicity stunt.
Snowed in!!
Have you ever seen a film in 3D that absolutely NEEDED to be in 3D?
– Well played, Mark Kermode.
Guess I better go
Tomorrow I leave New York. Aside from being heartbroken, I’m also excited to go back to England. It’s a potent and disarming cocktail of emotion. These last 3 months have been among the best of my life. I’ve done so much, with so many highlights…
Saw my favourite band perform less than 24 hours after stepping off the plane.
Made friends after one night.

The Tetris God, written by me and Jeff Rubin, directed by Sam. Starring UCB’s own Neil Casey, who kills it. Defying our cries of “It’s not possible!,” Sam rewrote the order of the pieces so that they actually create a legitimate onscreen game during the sketch. One of my favorites in a while. Digg it.
So, so, so good.

The Brit Returns
There are two specific traits I share with any 11-year-old child.
1. I enjoy Megazords
2. I have absolutely no skill/confidence in traveling internationally
Shoot me an email (tomm.philip(at)gmail.com) if you know a single thing about getting to/through JFK. Thanks, internet.
